Try again with a new disc, but you only have three chances. If there's nothing on the disc then someone must have peeked. Voilà, your precious home movies transferred. After a week take the cassette off the disc. Whatever you do, don't be tempted to peek before the week is up otherwise it won't work. Place both in a brown envelope and put them somewhere dark and cool for a week. Take a blank DVD disc and lightly tape the cassette to the label side. I was so tempted to reply with "Yes! It's dead simple. Okay, okay, that probably wasn't the OPs intention, and I've taken a huge pinch of artistic licence with the interpretation, but I think others might have viewed it in a similar way too. Would someone like to volunteer to do this for me?" Can he really be asking "How do I get my content off a tape without a camcorder to plug in to a PC"? Then I read further - (forgive me, but I'm paraphrasing here) - " I've got a camcorder, but I can't be arsed looking for up-to-date drivers", and then to top it off, and admittedly reading between the lines " I'm a bit of a cheapskate as well as lazy. I have to say that when I read the OP my mouth fell open. Many thanks if you took the time to read this post. If you can help, please could you explain in a simple way as I have learning difficulties and struggle with complex sentences. (I'm using a Windows 8.1 Laptop and a Windows 7 PC)ģ) Is there a simpler non-expensive option? Is it possible to do either of the following:ġ) Transfer the contents of the tape to a laptop/PC without a camcorder - if so, how?Ģ) The Mini DV camcorder, manufactured by Samsung, is not installing to my PC/laptop - how can I install it when there's no drives available? Not sure if this is important to what I'm about to ask but there's a little code on it, DVM60, and other text set out like: I have a Mini DV 60 tape manufactured by TDK.
